We are seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead projects from preliminary to detailed design, emphasizing client requirements and team leadership.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, checking, and supervising engineering designs, technical documents, and calculations for client delivery.
  • Leading and developing a team of engineers and technicians, supporting their professional growth towards Chartered status.
  • Managing projects from feasibility through detailed design, including site supervision as needed.
  • Overseeing conceptual design development and project control monitoring.
  • Ensuring compliance with standards, codes, and best practices, including Eurocodes.
  • Performing geotechnical design work and assisting in tender and cost estimate preparations.
  • Coordinating external contractors and design checkers, and exploring business development opportunities.
  • Reporting on project progress, resources, and budgets, and ensuring technical quality of designs and reports.

Additionally, you will have:

  • An MSc or MEng in Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering with significant Geotechnical experience.

  • Advanced skills in numerical modeling (e.g., 3D Plaxis) and familiarity with geotechnical software (e.g., Geo Studio suite).
  • Knowledge of statutory processes, standards, and Eurocodes.
  • Experience in rail, tunneling, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations and geotechnical design capabilities across various geotechnical domains.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
