An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled IFRS Leases Accountant to join an expanding finance team based in Castleford. This role offers the chance to be part of a supportive and committed team, focused on achieving objectives together and enjoying the journey along the way. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to coordinate and manage the migration of accounting standard changes with regards to leases on behalf of multiple companies. This is a new role within the group, offering the chance to lead the transition of operating leases being brought on balance sheet with the change to FRS 102 - lease accounting.
As an IFRS Leases Accountant, your primary responsibility will be managing and updating the lease accounting portfolio for multiple companies. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate reporting of lease accounting information, designing and implementing controls and policies that govern lease accounting. Your expertise will be vital in taking ownership of the accounting policy, continuously striving for improvement. You will also act as a go-to person for all lease-related queries, preparing company and group journals for lease accounting entries. Your role will involve reconciling lease data at both company and group levels, providing lease disclosure notes for year-end audits, responding to audit queries, and maintaining accuracy and relevance of live data in leases accounting software.
As an ideal candidate for this IFRS Leases Accountant position, you bring a wealth of experience in managing large volumes of assets under IFRS16. You are ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified and have a strong command of Excel, including pivot tables. Your ability to manage, analyse, and interpret large amounts of data is second to none, and you are adept at preparing reports for management review. You have experience in large volume reconciliations and can effectively resolve variances. Above all, your personable nature allows you to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
