Facility Manager
£50,000 - £60,000

One of our key customers is currently recruiting for a Facility Manager who will report directly to the Board of Directors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised Facilities Manager with proven ability and experience in facilities management.

In this role, you will act as the primary key holder for our premises in Warwick, requiring availability for out-of-hours attendance on site in case of intruder or fire alarm activation.

You will need experience supporting facility renovation and extension projects, along with significant health and safety expertise and relevant certifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH.

Experience with listed buildings would be highly desirable.

Key skills
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Facility Manager
  • Good knowledge of building regulations
  • Good knowledge of CDM regulations
  • Awareness of health and safety issues, especially risk assessments and method statements
  • Preferably a member of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management
Duties and responsibilities
  • Source and purchase furniture and fittings, as approved by Directors
  • Prepare detailed annual budgets, provide monthly updates, and quarterly budget reports; monitor and control spend within approved budgets; report to the Board as required
  • Report at monthly Board Meetings
  • Source quotations from contractors, architects, designers, and suppliers; negotiate for value and quality
  • Manage facilities-related projects from minor refurbishments to major building programs, from initiation to completion
  • Monitor building wear and tear; propose new projects or repairs; conduct regular building audits; record issues
  • Maintain a schedule of daily, weekly, and monthly building maintenance tasks
  • Proactively manage the Facilities Assistant and oversee task scheduling
  • Review and manage service and maintenance contracts (e.g., boilers, alarms, air conditioning)
  • Be the primary contact for internal queries and faults
  • Understand lease contents; liaise with landlords regarding maintenance and lease continuance
  • Support the Board in sourcing and arranging short or long-term accommodation as needed
  • Be familiar with utility arrangements (electricity, gas, water, drainage)
  • Review asbestos-containing materials annually and report accordingly
  • Contribute to building and facilities risk assessments with the Health and Safety Manager
  • Coordinate with the IT team on infrastructure projects impacting IT systems
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety Manager on building and facilities issues
  • Perform or assist with ad hoc facilities tasks as required
  • Manage and review the asset tracking system regularly
  • Ensure safe delivery and installation of machinery and equipment
  • Ensure annual servicing and documentation of calibrated equipment
