Ideally you will be based in or around the surrounding areas of Millbrook.

In Southern Water you’ll have the benefits of structured hours, with standby opportunities giving you greater earning potential.

Your experience in any industry is valuable to us here at Southern Water. You have the opportunity to earn a great base salary package of up to £27,496.64 plus a great company benefits package, in a role with stability and progression combined.

You do not need a background in the Water industry. We would welcome applications from candidates outside of the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas. This role has a focus on compliance, technical problems solving, repairing and maintenance.

There has never been a better time to join our organisation as we build towards a greener future, tackling climate change, minimising our environmental impact and reducing our carbon footprint.

You will be part of the frontline operations team in the Millbrook area and the business simply cannot operate without you. Every day is different, you will be working in all weather conditions carrying out a range of tasks, to ensure the essential functions of our wastewater treatment works and wastewater pumping stations operate to maintain the supply to our customers and protect the environment.

Although work is generated to you on a weekly basis, you will be managing your own time, giving you the freedom and flexibility to design your own working week, you will learn how to be organised and proactive.

Your Core Responsibilities Will Be

  • Compliance testing.
  • Maintenance tasks - unblocking pumps, screens and valves to ensure continuous plant operation.
  • Repair of alarms systems.
  • Monitoring, collating and reporting of data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Fault finding and problem-solving skills are essential to respond to breakdowns.
  • Site Hygiene in line with our regulatory obligations.

You Will Be

  • Comfortable working outdoors, potentially in all weather conditions.
  • Prepared to work within the company’s rota of a 7-day working week and participate on a standby rota.
  • Part of a team who delivers excellent performance by understanding how you affect the overall mission of Southern Water.
  • Adaptable, flexible, patient, reliable and self-motivated.
  • Good with time management
  • Confident to work effectively and efficiently on your own.
  • Keen to learn and operate complex processes with high quality controls.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs grade 3 including Maths, English and Science
  • Valid UK Manual Drivers Licence

So why not engage with us and find out more about this role?
