The UK Dementia Research Institute seeks a high-level executive support role for the Dean and DOO within its busy Faculty of Medical Sciences. The role demands excellent organizational skills, adaptability, and effective communication to manage strategic priorities and support various stakeholders. The Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS) is the most clinically facing Faculty at UCL and is at the forefront of innovation and research in the medical sciences. Our mission is to target and address the unmet health needs which negatively impact individuals and societies worldwide. We are dedicated to ensuring our innovative research translates into real-world solutions that improve lives, ranging from tackling the health risks linked to obesity to improving therapies for cancer patients. Our research scientists and academic clinicians provide our students with the highest quality of education and training to inspire the next generation of exceptional scientists, clinicians, and global leaders. There are more than 4,000 students and 1,459 members of staff in the Faculty.
This will be a busy role, in a fast-paced environment, and the post holder will be expected to be adaptable, quickly assimilate information, and to establish their own support networks across UCL. An excellent eye for detail, superb organisation skills and the ability to communicate effectively are a must.
Application process:
To provide high level executive support to the Dean and DOO, directing and managing their time in the most effective and efficient manner, ensuring that the most pressing and strategic issues are prioritised.
To take a leading role in the management of the office; mentoring and guiding members as necessary and ensuring office procedures are recorded and kept up to date. In addition, the role holder will be a first point of contact for a variety of staff, students, visitors, and team, and will apply their knowledge of UCL to respond to queries and support activities.
