About The Role

Elvin’s Maths department secured its best ever GCSE outcomes in 2024 – and we are expecting even more in 2025!

The role involves managing the professional community of Maths teachers to ensure high attainment and to develop a love of learning in all pupils.

As our Second in Charge Maths Teacher, you will ensure meaningful learning takes place for our students by teaching engaging and effective lessons. You will be a motivator and inspiration for our pupils and ensure they make rapid and sustained progress.

Key responsibilities

1. To plan, resource and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard, thereby ensuring meaningful learning takes place and pupils make rapid and sustained progress.
2. To continue the development of the curriculum in Mathematics – at Key Stage Three through alignment to and development of Maths Mastery; at Key Stage Four and Five through rigorous planning towards the GCSE specification.
3. To coach and mentor developing teachers within the department.
4. To fully implement all academy routines and techniques for creating a culture of high expectations.
5. To contribute to the enrichment, extra-curricular and raising aspirations programmes.
6. To contribute to the effective daily working of the academy.
