Rated CQC Outstanding! Our client is seeking compassionate and dedicated people to become Support Workers for our young people on a full or part time basis.

Set within 14 acres, Orchard Manor offers a supportive living and learning environment for young adults with severe and profound learning difficulties and complex health needs. With specialist facilities and a focus on promoting independence, we support each of our young people through the transition from education into adulthood.

The Role:

As a support worker, you will be highly involved in personal care, supporting our young people with all aspects of personal hygiene including toileting, dressing, and maintaining their personal appearance.

In addition to supporting their medical needs, you will also assist with therapies such as rebound therapy or hydrotherapy in our newly renovated pool. We also have sensory gardens, a skills centre, forestry school, and rooms dedicated to art, music, and much more.

Independence is promoted wherever possible; the adults will often run their own days with activities they enjoy, such as participating in the site's enterprise scheme, going on shopping trips, taking part in forestry lessons, or even going to the pub!

We are looking for candidates to demonstrate:

  • Willingness to learn and go the extra mile
  • At least 1 year experience working in care or a similar field.
  • Ability to guide and encourage supportive independence when possible
  • Exceptional communication skills and patience
  • Resilience with a robust and positive nature
  • Creativity in meeting the needs of the young adults.
  • Ability to work on a rota pattern which will include working every other weekend
