About the role

• Responsible for delivering the health, safety, and environmental risk strategy of the business as set by the Head of Safety & Risk.
• Implementing ISO certified safety and environmental management systems.
• Acting as the Subject Matter Expert for Smiths News on health and safety, environmental risk, and safety culture, including road transport and operational yard safety at Smiths News and third-party locations.
• Managing company health and safety policies, training, and audits to ensure suitable arrangements are in place.
• Delivering the Human Factors and Safety Culture Awareness program to embed positive behaviors and a just safety culture.
• Building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders interested in health and safety compliance.
• Ensuring incidents and accidents are fully investigated and liaising with external stakeholders as needed.

About you

• At least Nebosh Level 3 or equivalent qualification
• Experience with ISO 45001 and integrated systems
• Auditing qualifications and experience
• Environmental risk management qualifications
• Extensive accident investigation experience with root cause analysis
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• A valid UK driving license (company car may be provided)
