NHS Lothian is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician Support Worker to join their skilled nursing team at Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion. This role involves supporting patient care through technical testing and providing guidance to ensure compliance with treatments. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out a range of technical tests and diagnostic techniques that enable clinicians to determine appropriate clinical pathways and treatments for Ophthalmic patients.
The postholder will support Ophthalmic Nursing staff to deliver care and ensure protocols and procedures are followed, particularly regarding specific sub-specialty integrated care pathways.
Responsibilities include delivering advice to patients to encourage self-management and providing training to ensure safe use and compliance of treatments and equipment.
