Job description

A fast-growing tech-driven utilities company is looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to drive their cloud strategy and platform engineering team. This role blends leadership, security, and automation, supporting a cloud-first approach with a focus on Azure while maintaining cloud-agnostic capabilities.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead and mentor a small platform engineering team.
  • Define and implement a secure cloud platform strategy.
  • Manage supplier relationships and budget forecasts.
  • Drive DevSecOps best practices and cloud security initiatives.
  • Design CI/CD pipelines and automation-first infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance efficiency and security.
  • Provide enterprise-level authentication security expertise.
  • Support out-of-hours deployments when needed.
What You’ll Bring:
  • 5+ years in DevOps & Cloud Native Infrastructure (Azure-focused).
  • 3+ years in Cloud Security / DevSecOps.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes (Azure), Azure DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep).
  • Strong coding skills in C# and experience with .NET Core/.NET 8.
  • Experience with Azure CAF, ELZ, and well-architected frameworks.
  • Proficiency in scripting & automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python, YAML).
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • AWS experience is a plus for business continuity planning.
