Position & Client Overview:

Our client is located in the beautiful and historic gold mine region of Nevada. They are seeking a Medical Technologist to work night shifts in their general laboratory. The shift is ten hours, four days a week, providing extra time to explore the area on your days off!

Salary Range: $83,000-100,000

Job Summary:

Identify the presence or absence of disease and provide data to assist physicians in determining the best treatment. Laboratory specialties include clinical chemistry, hematology, transfusion services, immunology, microbiology, serology, and molecular diagnostics.

Skill Requirements:

• Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment
• Demonstrate dexterity and good eye-hand coordination for specimen collection and preparation
• Prioritize lab safety and infection prevention

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Perform testing across various lab areas: clinical chemistry, hematology, blood bank, immunology, microbiology, serology, and molecular diagnostics
• Match computer orders with specimen labels, sort and check specimens, log samples, prepare reports, maintain quality control, troubleshoot, calibrate equipment, and monitor protocols
• Participate in staff training and educational opportunities
• Report abnormal patient conditions and communicate with public health officials as needed
• Maintain a safe environment by following standards and legal regulations
• Ensure patient confidentiality regarding laboratory information

Education, Certification, & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in science (MT/MLS)
• At least four years of experience as a medical technologist
• Neveda general supervisor license or eligibility
• ASCP certification
