Job description

Senior Building Services Manager

An opportunity to work for a well-known, established Tier 1 Main Contractor who are thriving in the industrial sector with a number of exciting projects coming up in the Suffolk area.

Responsibilities for a Senior Building Services Manager

1. A key member of the project team reporting to the Project Director, responsible for the successful delivery of the MEP package from construction, commissioning through to handover.
2. MEP services vary from project to project but may include lifts, statutory services, sprinklers, specialist sound, communication and theatre lighting, pool water systems, water treatment, specialist gases, renewable energy systems, and mechanical or manufacturing process systems.
3. Use technical, commercial, contractual, programming, and time awareness skills as part of a project team to deliver design, construction, and commissioning solutions that meet contractual obligations, while ensuring installations are of the right quality and comply with current legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
4. Review sub-contractor drawings and technical submissions for compliance, buildability & commissionable in line with ERs, Regulations, and Standards including BREEAM, CIBSE, and BSRIA design guides and codes of practice.
5. Assist project team with management of coordination between MEP package works and other works packages on site regarding hold points and sign-off for ceiling, wall, and floor closures, etc.
6. Attend regular commissioning meetings.
7. Assist in ensuring timely clearance of any defects and snagging.

Requirements for a Senior Building Services Manager

1. Main Contractor experience is preferred.
2. HNC or Degree in Building Services.
3. Experience in design, construction, and commissioning stages of MEP management.
4. High technical expertise in MEP services, process engineering.
