Job summary

A leading company is seeking a MIG Welder/Fitter for a permanent position in Stockport. Job description

Job Title: MIG Welder/Fitter – Permanent

Location:

Stockport

Salary:

• £19.22 per hour (day shift)
• £25.56 per hour (night shift)

Shift Details:

• Day Shift: Mon–Thu 7:00am–3:30pm, Fri 7:00am–12:30pm
• Night Shift: Mon–Thu 9:15pm–6:55am

Additional Information:

Workshop-based role with overtime availability and shift flexibility required. Night work is paid at a 33% uplift.

Requirements:

1. Level 3 Apprenticeship in Welding/Fabrication or equivalent
2. Proven MIG welding skills on armored steel or similar heavy-gauge materials
3. Ability to read engineering drawings and perform fabrication and fitting work
4. Experience in high-integrity sectors such as nuclear, defence, subsea, oil & gas

Role Responsibilities:

1. MIG welding and fitting of thick section steel components
2. Working to tight tolerances based on detailed technical drawings
3. Workshop-based work with ample overtime and long-term workload
