Data Manager

Location: Newham
Salary: £36,934 - £40,614 per annum
Start Date: July 2025
Contract: Long Term
Working Hours: 8am 4pm

GSL Education London Branch is currently seeking a Data Manager to work at a thriving co-educational secondary school in Newham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised and tech-savvy individual to play a key role in the school's data management and reporting systems. As the Data Manager, you will be central to ensuring student data is accurate, accessible, and used effectively to improve outcomes across the school.

Responsibilities of the Data Manager:
  • Oversee and manage all student data relating to attainment and progress using the school s ICT-based systems.

  • Manage the school s MIS and complete all administrative data tasks.

  • Support the smooth induction of all mid-phase admissions by ensuring accurate uploads onto SIMS.

  • Provide accurate data and reports to the Senior Leadership Team to support school target setting.

  • Maintain and manage the school s assessment and reporting systems.

  • Offer training and support to staff on the use of MIS and data tracking packages.

  • Oversee the data transfer of student information in and out of the school, ensuring data is accurate and timely.

  • Coordinate and develop the school s data tracking systems, including departmental markbooks.

  • Lead all school reporting processes using the school-based data package.

  • Assist with data checking at Parents Evenings by producing and presenting relevant reports.

Requirements for the Data Manager:
  • Previous experience working as a Data Manager or in a data-focused administrative role in a school or similar setting.

  • Strong working knowledge of MIS systems such as SIMS.

  • Excellent IT skills, especially in Excel and data analysis.

  • Ability to work accurately and to tight deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive.
