Job description

Newhouse Academy – part of Hollingworth Learning Trust – has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Teacher of Performing Arts / Dance to join our academy from 1st September 2025.

We are seeking to appoint a passionate teacher who can match the energy of the department. Somebody who is not afraid to step outside of their comfort zone, explore new ideas and demonstrate that they are one of ''our people''.

Our performing Arts curriculum delivers a highly ambitious, exciting and varied mix of all three ‘triple threat’ disciplines to all students in Key Stage 3. At Key Stage 4 we offer both BTEC Dance and BTEC Drama.

We have a brand new, state-of-the-art Performing Arts Drama and Dance studio which opened in September 2024. The department is fully equipped with a stage, sound system, dance mirrors, costume and props. The studios open up to create one big space, ideal for productions.

We will accept and encourage applications from both performing arts and dance specialists.

We are looking for a great practitioner who:

  • Holds qualified teacher status; specialising in Performing Arts/Dance;
  • Has a real desire to help students achieve all that they can;
  • Has values in line with the academy’s priorities of Aspiration, Integrity and Respect.
