Opus People Solutions, on behalf of Telford and Wrekin Council, has an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join the Children's Safeguarding and Family Support Team.

Assignment Details: 3 months
Hours per week: 37
Hourly rate: £33.30
Location: Southwater One
Remote/Office based: Hybrid

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to manage a caseload of varying complexity within our Children's Services. The successful candidate will lead on complex assessments, provide evidence in court proceedings, and exercise high-quality judgment in challenging situations. You will practice with confidence and autonomy, integrating professional knowledge and the views of service users into your practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Case Management: Manage a caseload, conducting thorough assessments, and employing appropriate intervention strategies tailored to service users, families, and settings.
Major Tasks:
  • Apply appropriate assessment frameworks and information-gathering skills to inform decision-making.
  • Select and review social work interventions based on their effectiveness for service users.
  • Promote constructive relationships with children, young people, families, and communities.
  • Liaise with colleagues and external agencies to gather information for assessment and care planning.
