HGV Mechanic

Connect Appointments have an exciting opportunity for an HGV Mechanic to work in our Bishop's Stortford location.

Working as a HGV Mechanic:
Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
£18 to £22 per hour
Overtime and weekend availability

Your duties as an HGV Mechanic will include:

1. Carrying out diagnostic repairs
2. Performing regular 12-weekly inspections, servicing, and repair works on our fleet of HGV trucks
3. MOT preparations
4. Complying with time recording procedures and ensuring that job cards are completed accurately
5. Collaborating with our team to carry out repairs on specialist equipment mounted on the vehicles
6. Organising vehicle defects as they happen and arranging the necessary parts to fix them
7. Operating in a tidy and safe manner

To be successful in this role you will ideally have the following skills, traits, and experience:

1. Qualification in heavy vehicle mechanics
2. Experience in the repair and maintenance of HGV vehicles within the commercial vehicle industry
3. Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
4. Problem-solving skills
5. Full UK Driving licence
6. HGV licence would be an advantage

Please Note - Successful applicants must be able to share out-of-hours responsibilities with other members, approximately once a month (as a guide).
