An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and driven Head of Music to join a well-regarded secondary school in the Andover area from September 2025. About the Role:

  • Full-time, permanent leadership post with Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR)
  • Lead the Music curriculum across Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Work closely with the Head of Performing Arts and senior leaders
  • Manage a successful GCSE programme (Music and Music Technology)
  • Oversee a team of peripatetic staff and deliver vibrant enrichment opportunities
  • Support school concerts, national performances, and large-scale productions

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passionate, qualified teacher of Music with strong subject knowledge
  • A commitment to high-quality teaching and curriculum development
  • An inspirational leader with the ability to motivate staff and students alike
  • Experience delivering Music or Music Technology at Key Stage 4 (desirable)
  • Strong musical ability – piano skills and/or experience with choirs or vocal groups is a plus
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys a fast-paced, dynamic environment

What You’ll Be Leading:

  • Delivery of a broad and engaging Music curriculum from Year 7–11
  • Oversight of GCSE cohorts in both Music and Music Technology
  • Organisation of extra-curricular clubs, ensembles, school productions, and public performances
  • Partnership with the local community and national music events (e.g., Voice in a Million)
  • Instrumental tuition coordination and scholarship programme management
