Job description

Our Amentum Defence and Security teams provide design and engineering services for our nuclear and defence clients across the UK and abroad. Our team is experiencing exciting growth and long-term prospects within our established practice, and we are looking for BIM skills, if you are passionate about developing yourself and in meeting new challenges. We offer hybrid working with 1-2 days in the office. Occasional site visits may be necessary.

About the opportunity:

The individual will have the opportunity to work alongside highly skilled teams delivering, implementing and managing BIM. We offer hybrid working with 2-3 days in the office, we also have a UK network of offices and can accommodate no matter where you are based with a mix of hybrid working. We have excellent IT support. Occasional site visits may be necessary.

Working on a variety of projects in the defence and security sector this role is for the Non-Nuclear Engineering Partner (NNEP) framework is a partnership between AWE and our company tasked with delivering a major contribution to the overall AWE improvement plan. The NNEP framework is a strategic enabler for maintaining the UK’s current and future Continuous At-Sea Deterrent (CASD) capability. The NNEP Engineering function provides full life cycle engineering solutions across a portfolio of asset investment programmes and new capability projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Capturing client requirements and developing BIM strategies to meet those requirements.
  • Managing the roll out and implementation of the key BIM documentation within a client organisation, across a programme of works and at project level.
  • Interfacing with clients, design teams and contractors implementing BIM methodologies and best practice from strategy level through to project delivery.
  • The ability to lead & manage a small team, in a Multidiscipline environment.
  • Conducting structured check, review and validation procedures of project models including clash detection and validation of data against information requirements.

Here is what you need:

  • Understanding of the emerging technology market that can support our clients & delivery.
  • An understanding of international BIM standards which define BIM in accordance with ISO 19650.
  • A working knowledge of the creation and maintenance of key BIM documentation.
  • A working knowledge of the roles and relationships associated with a BIM enabled project.
  • Working knowledge of a 3D modelling software such as Revit or Aveva 3D.
  • Multidiscipline environment experience including Architectural, Civil/Structural/Mechanical Services.
