Main duties of the job
- To liaise with all key members of the multidisciplinary team to advise and support colleagues in the delivery of specialised patient care across professional boundaries.
- To undertake nurse-led clinics and to be responsible for maintaining high standards of nursing care through planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating nurse-led clinics.
- To work autonomously to deliver specialist clinical care tailored to the needs of the patient group, based on research principles that enhance patient care quality.
- To contribute to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of care pathways for a specific patient group.
- To participate in training and education within the specialist area.
- To promote innovation and continuous improvement in patient care by reviewing evidence and engaging in research activities.
- To act as a visible role model and expert practitioner.

Education & Professional Qualifications
- Registered nurse
- Undergraduate degree
- Recognised teaching or mentorship qualification
- Post-registration qualification relevant to the specialty
Desirable qualifications include a master's degree or working towards one, advanced assessment skills, and an independent nurse prescribing course or willingness to undertake it.
Experience
- Substantial post-registration experience in the area of specialty
- Experience of research and audit
- Evidence of teaching junior staff
- Proven ability to improve patient experience
Desirable experience includes undertaking nurse-led clinics and current line management of staff.
