Job description

Yokogawa Marex has an exciting opportunity for an experienced frontend software developer with a strong track record in ASP.NET Core (C#) and JavaScript development.

Reporting to the Software Development Manager, as an experienced frontend developer in our software development team, you will have a Bachelor level degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 5+ years of work experience in a web technology-focused software development environment.

You will be responsible for developing web applications, including the design and implementation of complex software components, ensuring adherence to quality processes that lead to the delivery of high-quality, responsive applications and solutions that meet customer requirements.

You should have a strong technical background and a good understanding of the software development lifecycle, with experience in design, implementation, and testing.

Yokogawa Marex, a division of Yokogawa UK Limited, specializes in developing and delivering software solutions that provide valuable insights and actionable information to operate facilities effectively, efficiently, and safely in a profitable and sustainable manner.

As a Frontend Developer, you will:
  1. Create and review requirements, functional and design specifications for complex frontend solutions.
  2. Collaborate closely with the project manager to develop and execute frontend projects delivering high-quality products.
  3. Develop, modify, and review frontend components, adhering to quality standards based on requirements, functional, and design specifications.
  4. Plan, design, and develop tests, including automated unit tests, to meet quality metrics.
  5. Diagnose and assist the support team in resolving frontend issues related to usability, configuration, and coding.
  6. Optimize the use of technology in developing software solutions.
  7. Lead technical teams and mentor team members.
  8. Produce estimates and development architectures for inclusion in proposals.
We are looking for a colleague with:
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar, with 5+ years of experience as a frontend developer.
  • Experience developing complex frontend applications using ASP.NET Core and JavaScript frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience creating Software Functional and Design Specifications.
  • Experience in software testing, release, and maintenance.
  • Experience planning and executing development projects, including estimation, risk management, and time management.
  • Experience leading teams and developing team members.
  • Experience working within a structured quality system and knowledge of structured software development methods and processes.
  • Enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, customer focus, problem-solving skills, a desire for continuous improvement, and teamwork.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Office.
Desirable but not essential:
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio IDE, DevOps, and GitHub.
  • Experience with state management in Vue.js (Vuex, Pinia).
  • Experience with modern frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite).
  • Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
  • Experience with JSON, OData, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience producing requirements specifications.
  • Awareness of current technology and software trends impacting software production, testing, and delivery.
