Terms:

· Standard working hours: 07:30 - 16:30, Monday - Friday

· Salary: £50,000 per annum before tax & deductions

· Bonus: 4% of the gross profit on managed jobs, paid monthly in arrears

· Holiday: 30 days including Bank Holidays

Abbey Electrical (Swindon) Ltd is part of Abbey Group Services Ltd, a leading Electrical, Fire & Security, and Renewables contractor based in Shrivenham, near Swindon. We are expanding and seeking an Electrical Contracts Manager to join our team, working alongside our project managers.

This role involves developing and growing the department, hiring and managing Electricians, running tendered projects, pricing smaller projects, overseeing projects from start to finish, and driving business growth.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Managing multiple projects from enquiry to client handover
2. Targeting potential clients and securing work
3. Overseeing domestic, commercial, and industrial work
4. Supporting administrative staff with job-related queries
5. Completing NICEIC certificates as a registered QS
6. Supporting engineers as needed
7. Developing engineers and conducting appraisals
8. Client liaison and attending meetings
9. Surveying work for quotes; larger projects priced by estimating
10. Pricing smaller projects with limited information
11. Producing RAMS, NICEIC certificates, and O&M files
12. Recruiting and managing labour, including sub-contractors
13. Managing costs, margins, and profits
14. Working towards monthly financial targets
15. Ensuring quality control and health & safety compliance
16. Supporting all tasks related to the role
17. Maintaining professional telephone manner

1. Strong attention to detail and proactive attitude
2. Ability to work under pressure and bring in sufficient work
3. Commercial awareness and understanding of financial targets
4. Flexibility to work longer hours or extra miles when needed
5. Willingness to travel to sites (typically within 1.5 hours)
6. Supportive of all types and sizes of work
