Job description

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced and ambitious litigator specialising in contentious trust and probate work.

You would be working within the dispute resolution department with responsibility for managing a caseload of predominantly contentious trusts and probate work and supervising the work of more junior members of the team within this field. There is significant scope for career progression within the role and to build and expand the firm’s contentious probate offering.

The ideal candidate will:

  1. Have 3 years + PQE
  2. Have experience of contentious trusts and probate caseload, including some or all of:
  • Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
  • Will validity challenges concerning testamentary capacity, undue influence and fraudulent calumny.
  • Mutual wills disputes.
  • Claims over property concerning constructive / resulting trusts and proprietary estoppel.
  • Disputes between beneficiaries and executors/trustees concerning the administration of wills and trusts.
  • Claims brought under TOLATA 1996.
  • Have experience and knowledge of civil procedure within the High Court, particularly within the Chancery Division.
  • Have enthusiasm and vision for the continued growth of the firm’s contentious trusts and probate offering.
