Certain Advantage is hiring for a Project Manager at a highly reputable manufacturer of underwater technology based in Northeast Hampshire.

This role is permanent and primarily based at the company's manufacturing facility.

Are you an experienced Project Manager in manufacturing and/or defence projects looking to join a leader in cutting-edge sensor technology?

You will manage the design and development of bespoke, high-value underwater commercial and defence projects.

The Company:

We collaborate with a UK-based pioneer in environmental sensing technology, delivering sensor and monitoring solutions across Defence, Energy, and Oceanographic Research sectors. Known for scientific innovation and precision engineering, this company supports global clients with advanced instrumentation for environmental monitoring, oceanography, water quality, and naval applications.

The Role:

This position suits someone with a strong background in Project Management within manufacturing and/or defence sectors.

You will be a key member of the Engineering team, bridging design/development, manufacturing, operations, and client communication.

  • Deliver projects within budget and specifications, ensuring proper planning, resourcing, and execution. Assist with NRE estimations, monitor costs, and report deviations to Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
  • Produce comprehensive project specifications and designs that define functional requirements and system performance.
  • Develop test procedures to validate hardware, firmware, and software components, delivering configured systems with documented results.
  • Manage project documentation aligned with customer requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders/clients.
The Candidate:

We seek individuals with:

  • Project management experience in manufacturing and/or defence sectors.
  • Knowledge of product development processes and lifecycle.
  • A degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant qualifications such as APM, PMQ, PRINCE2, or similar are preferred.
