Job Description

A conceptual and design led sell. The Business Development Manager will:

  • Work with the New Business Director to explore sales opportunities within and beyond automotive that align with company capabilities.
  • Identify and engage potential clients, set appointments, and manage the sales cycle through to deal closure.
  • Prepare accurate sales presentations, reports, and proposals.
  • Assess client needs and follow a structured sales process to meet targets.
  • Collaborate with other sales representatives to ensure consistency in pricing and service standards.
  • Manage enquiries, proposals, quotations, and oversee projects from start to finish.
  • Maintain project cost management and ensure changes are documented and agreed upon.
  • Ensure clear communication between internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Travel to client sites, suppliers, and company locations (UK and potentially international) as required.
  • Develop and maintain project timing plans for internal and external customers.
  • Document meetings and engagements to ensure client satisfaction and project integrity.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned.

The Successful Applicant

Business Development Manager will have:

  • At least three years of sales experience in a similar industry.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a professional but persuasive approach.
  • Industry knowledge in motor-sports, design or adjacent sectors and the ability to present technical solutions effectively.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage cost, quality, and timing in projects.
  • Proficiency with sales management software and CRM systems.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven attitude.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a good understanding of risk management.
