Job description

Print Colour Coordinator

Location: Buxton, Derbyshire
Salary: GBP30,000 plus attractive benefits package
Contract: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 8.30-16.30

About the role

This role involves coordinating Saica Flex Buxton's colour management system, working closely with Sun Chemicals to ensure accurate customer colour targets. You will build and maintain the Saica Flex Buxton digital colour library and support internal teams with job control, sample management, and colour queries.

To apply, you will need

  • Essential computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Xrite systems and EFI PECAS
  • Extensive experience in the printing industry, preferably with colour expertise
  • Qualifications in Print and/or colour
  • Background in flexographic printing, lamination, or cold seal packing industries
  • Awareness of H&S standards and quality standards in the food industry

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sun Chemicals to build and maintain a colour library based on existing standards
  • Add digital Pantone colours and instructions for new designs, aligning ink formulas and colour targets
  • Assign digital colour data to S/O D numbers, process, and Pantone
  • Manage print profiles and color certification data files
  • Create physical colour standards as needed
  • Support job control, sample, and archive folder management
  • Control digital colorcert projects for customers like ASDA and UB
  • Calibrate Xrite equipment using NetProfiler and arrange annual calibration
  • Maintain software and spectros
  • Collaborate with Xrite and Sun Chemicals to resolve equipment and colour matching issues
  • Work with origination and production teams on colour targets and instructions for new designs
  • Update colour specifications and profiles as required
  • Report on plate and cold seal cylinder usage
  • Manage colour targets and CXF files transfer between sites
  • Assist production, management, and technical teams with colour-related tasks
  • Support product testing and trials
