Toolmaker / Maintenance Technician
Location: Worcester
Salary: £43,800 (includes shift allowance)
Shifts: Rotating Double Days (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00) & occasional night shifts (22:00-06:00)

MDE is on the hunt for a skilled Toolmaker who thrives under pressure, enjoys problem-solving, and can work both independently and as part of a team. Our client operates under a busy, well-equipped toolroom, supporting plastic injection mould tooling in high-volume automotive production.

Your Role:

1. Service & maintain injection mould tools (TPM schedules)
2. Repair & modify tools as needed to support production
3. Troubleshoot & solve issues at the moulding press
4. Work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision

What You Need:

1. Time-served Toolmaker apprenticeship + ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or 5+ years of hands-on injection mould tooling experience (automotive preferred)
2. Strong bench hand skills & ability to operate milling, turning, and grinding machines
3. Problem-solving mindset & good communication skills
4. Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and water systems on injection mould tools

Bonus Skills (Training Provided):

1. Hot runner system knowledge
2. Mould tool polishing & welding (Laser/MIG/TIG)
3. Overhead gantry crane certification
