Product Manager

Location: Widnes / Hybrid

Duties

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to join our Inorganics Team. Reporting to the Business Director Inorganics, you will develop the product portfolio to maximise profit and achieve targets.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
  1. Collaborate with the Inorganics Business Director, EPM, and BCS on sourcing.
  2. Negotiate with suppliers on non-centrally managed products to secure purchase/distribution agreements and prices.
  3. Identify new or potential suppliers/products with EPM / Business Director, and recommend and implement action plans.
  4. Meet with suppliers to review business performance as needed.
  5. Report and analyze results monthly across the EU Inorganics Team.
  6. Present market information to sales, providing commercial input on product pricing and availability.
  7. Work closely with sales teams to focus on key products and targets, ensuring appropriate PVP logic.
  8. Support sales through engagement with prospect customers, attending virtual and physical meetings.
  9. Launch new products effectively and train relevant personnel.
  10. Collaborate with marketing and digital teams on projects.
  11. Manage pricing to maximize margins, maintaining pricing tools and systems.
  12. Take corrective actions to recover business, reviewing product and supplier portfolios.
  13. Establish and update selling schedules for products.
  14. Improve margins through cost management and market/value-driven pricing initiatives.
  15. Make quick, efficient commercial decisions when required.
  16. Assist in preparing annual targets and budgets, and review performance against them.
  17. Coordinate with stock controllers on forecasts and stock levels.
  18. Enhance service levels and delivery performance via interface with colleagues and systems like VPM.
  19. Manage commercial interactions related to stock, sites, and suppliers, including forecasting and allocation.
  20. Identify aged stock, take appropriate actions, and review DSI data.
  21. Manage a Business Coordinator, supporting their development using available digital and HR tools.
We Are Looking For
  • A strong commercial operator with a proven track record of growth and motivation.
  • Good numeracy skills, proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with tools like Salesforce and Tableau is beneficial.
  • Effective communicator, able to convey information clearly and promptly.
  • Flexible, accurate, calm under pressure, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Customer-focused, team player, and committed to excellent service.
