Job Title: Pharmacist (Outpatients) - Bank Shifts

Department: Pharmacy

Location: 164-178 Cromwell Hospital, Cromwell Road, London SW5 0TU

Permanent / Contract: Bank Shifts

Salary range: £25 per hour

The Outpatient Pharmacy service operates Monday to Friday from 9am to 8.30pm, and Saturdays from 9am to 2.30pm.

Who we’re looking for

As an Outpatient Pharmacist at Bupa, your patients will be your top priority. With no shareholders, we reinvest profits into our business to provide you with the resources and technology needed to make a difference to our patients each day.

Reporting to the Lead Pharmacist and collaborating with the wider department team, you will deliver first-class service to Outpatients, staff, and healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include preparing discharge packs and prescriptions, providing counselling, promoting safe medication use, and other related services.

You’ll help us make health happen by:

  • Adhering to the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards of conduct, ethics, and performance, as well as pharmacy standards, ensuring all professional, ethical, and legal obligations are met.

  • Ensuring the Outpatient Pharmacy service is patient-focused, responsive, and professional in image and delivery.

  • Performing responsibilities of a Responsible Pharmacist, including legal, efficient, and accurate dispensing of medicines, with appropriate clinical checks.

  • Providing patients with suitable counselling and information about their medicines, and counter-prescribing when necessary.

  • Offering professional leadership within the pharmacy, ensuring all practices align with the latest guidance from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and GPhC.

  • Meeting individual patient needs and resolving issues proactively.

  • Participating in clinical pharmacy services as appropriate.

What you’ll bring:

  • Master’s Degree in Pharmacy

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council

  • Experience managing a pharmacy and team

  • Flexibility to work variable shifts between 08:30-20:00

  • Availability for on-call, evening, and weekend services

  • Minimum of two years post-registration experience

  • Hospital and clinical experience with knowledge of Ascribe (desirable)
