Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting bakery goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role is crucial in maintaining our reputation for excellent service and reliability.

13 week Temp2Perm and during this time you will be given training on your route, which will be paid weekly.

Responsibilities

1. Operate lorries to deliver goods to various locations in a safe and timely manner.
2. Be fit enough to move cages on wheels into stores.
3. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
4. Load and unload cages safely and deliver into stores.
5. Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of all trips, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
6. Communicate effectively with managers regarding deliveries.
7. Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies while driving.
8. Perform routine maintenance checks on the vehicle and report any mechanical issues promptly.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid UK HGV licence is essential.
• CPC & Digital Tacho Card is a MUST.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for delivery driving.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, particularly in addressing delivery challenges or vehicle issues.
• No more than 6 points on your license, with no DR10 or IN10 for insurance purposes.

Note: This position is typically filled quickly as drivers tend to stay long-term with the company. There is potential to move to day shifts in the future, but currently, only night drivers are being recruited.

Pay: £52,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
