Preco is hiring a Full-Time Welder / Production Associate in Somerset, WI.

The Welder / Production Associate role combines primary welding responsibilities with secondary production tasks. The primary duties involve preparing and assembling metal components into fixtures using hand and pneumatic tools, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The role requires applying various welding techniques such as RSW, GTAW, and GMAW in accordance with qualified WPS, and welding qualification may be necessary.

Preco is a leading designer and manufacturer of precision automated processing systems for high-speed and high-accuracy applications, including die cutting and laser-based manufacturing. We are also one of North America's largest contract manufacturing service providers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assemble and weld components into final assemblies.
• Excavate porosity and perform repair welds as needed.
• Measure, document, and ensure that component cost, quality, and delivery standards are met.
• Operate custom-designed and standard laser machinery according to customer specifications.
• Perform quality inspections of finished parts.
• Start up and shut down machinery following written instructions.
• Shut down machinery in case of safety issues.
• Change gas cylinders and perform maintenance on tables as directed.
• Package and route parts for shipping.
• Perform cleanup duties as required.
• Complete all necessary paperwork accurately.
• Occasionally operate a forklift.
• Perform various other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Perform and pass a welding qualification according to a WPS.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education focusing on SMAW, GMAW, GTAW.
• Experience with welding techniques including SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW.
• Experience in metal fabrication following AWS codes (e.g., D1.1, D17.1).
• Ability to perform finishing operations using hand tools and pneumatic tooling.
• Ability to read and use WPS and precision measuring equipment.
• Knowledge or experience with rotary converting platforms (RCP) is helpful.
