A leading healthcare provider in Roehampton seeks an experienced Prosthetist to join their dynamic team. Opcare has been providing prosthetic services in Roehampton since 2008 and has recently been re-awarded the contract. This role offers an excellent opportunity to influence the service to enhance delivery.
The Prosthetic Department is based in the Douglas Bader Rehabilitation Centre within Queen Mary's Hospital, providing inpatient and outpatient prosthetic care for diverse patients, including complex upper and lower limb cases, congenital limb builds, and pediatric provisions. Our team includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, rehabilitation consultants, nursing staff, psychologists, social workers, and an onsite gait lab team.
All prosthetic manufacturing is performed by skilled onsite technicians, promoting a collaborative approach to device design and manufacture, including clinics run by clinical support technicians.
This role involves managing a complex caseload, requiring clinical expertise in at least one prosthetic area, with opportunities for specialization. The post is key in working with the prosthetic team and wider NHS MDT to improve service delivery. The successful candidate will be part of the senior clinical team and mentor less experienced staff.
