Job summary

We are seeking an exceptional midwife to join us as our Bereavement Lead Midwife.

The Lead Midwife for Bereavement is part of the maternity and neonatal senior leadership team. They will lead on providing individualized care for families and support our teams to deliver high-quality care. The role is informed by the National Bereavement pathway, and the post holder will contribute to guidelines, pathways, care delivery, and service design.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, the ability to guide, support, and lead with compassion, and a strong commitment to education, collaboration, and continuous improvement through listening and engagement.

Interview process: In-person interviews only at our Trust sites. Remote interviews will not be available.

Main duties of the job

You will act as an autonomous practitioner, promoting best practices and high standards within maternity services. You will engage in governance, audits, and reporting to support service improvements. Leading by example, you will empower staff in their professional development. As an expert practitioner, you will liaise, guide, and advise the multidisciplinary team and stakeholders to ensure optimal care, with the families' experience at the core of your motivation and commitment.
