Alcohol Focus Scotland (AFS) is Scotland’s national alcohol charity, committed to preventing and reducing harm toindividuals, families, communities and Scotland as a whole.
Scotland had been making progress in reducing alcohol consumption and harm from record levels, not least due to thepositive effects of minimum unit pricing of (MUP). Unfortunately, alcohol deaths have risen significantly since2020, due to the effect of the pandemic on consumption by heavier drinkers combined with reduced access toservices. Research suggests levels of harm will continue to rise for some time.

Who we are looking for
We are seeking a skilled policy professional to join our passionate team. You will have a varied and challengingrole, providing policy and research support across a number of policy areas, with an initial focus on alcoholmarketing and control on the sale of alcohol. Your excellent analytical, organisational and communication skillswill be vital in ensuring we meet our goal of effecting policy change in Scotland, to reduce alcohol harm andimprove lives.

Fife Alcohol Support Service (FASS) is Fife’s main third sector alcohol and substance misuse charity. FASS has beenworking on the frontline, supporting people through their issues with misuse and on to better lives for over 40years now. GCA deliver services over 6 days per week and throughout Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire
Role:
The Diploma in Integrative Counselling is 2-year course, credit rated at SCQF level 10 by the University of the Westof Scotland, and validation from COSCA. GCA is one of the founding COSCA members and adheres to the COSCAethical framework for good practice in counselling, psychotherapy and counselling skills. The course requireslead tutors who are accredited by COSCA to Diploma level or committed to work towards accreditation. Tutorsshould be experienced Counsellors who are accredited with an appropriate professional body, or working towardsaccreditation (e.g., COSCA/BACP/UKCP).
The Lead Course Tutor will have responsibility for two Diploma Courses, leading on one weekly class and one weekendclass.
The Lead Course Tutor will be expected to contribute to a GCA CPD calendar, writing and delivering on content agreedwith the Course Director.
The Lead Course Tutor will support the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of the Diploma inIntegrative Counselling.

The role is Monday to Friday, 830am to 430pm with occasional evening and weekend work. You will lead ateam that delivers a recovery service to individuals across the 6 localities of North Lanarkshire.
The Role
As the Team Manager, you will work across the 6 localities of North Lanarkshire. We have an office base in Coatbridgeand deliver interventions across the locality. You will work closely with the Service Manager and supervise thestaff team in order to maintain a high standard for the people that access our service. You will ensure that anyconcerns relating to safeguarding and risk are appropriately managed as well as ensuring that adequate data iscollected and reported on. You will represent the service across North Lanarkshire and will build on theexcellent working relationships we have with many partners.
