Location: Manor House School, Slinfold, Horsham

Salary: £20,906.25 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 14:30

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our close-knit team at Manor House School located in Slinfold, Horsham.

About the role

The postholder will support the proactive management of the school. Provide a clean, hygienic, and well-presented environment and provide the school with a safe environment for all people – pupils, staff, visitors, and contractors.

Responsibilities:

1. Help support the running of the kitchen.
2. Prepare the dining area of service, which may include moving and/or setting up furniture, setting up of trolleys, and the cleaning and dismantling of these as required after service.
3. Prepare the service area, hot cupboards, and other equipment at the point of service for the efficient and effective service of the meal.
4. Serve the food according to style and type of operation.
5. Wash dishes, cutlery, tumblers, jugs, serving utensils, containers, tables, and all other catering equipment in the catering environment.
6. Clean all catering areas on a daily basis.
7. Carry out routine cleaning to a fixed schedule, to the school and dining area.
8. Carry out ad hoc cleaning as and when required.
9. Assist in the day-to-day management of cleaning materials stocks and reordering when necessary, ensuring that the school policies on approvals are followed.
