Are you a motivated and hardworking individual with an interest in harbour and/or at sea towage? If so, we may have the opportunity for you.

Home to one of the world's largest natural deep-water harbours, A&P Falmouth facility is one of the largest ship-repair complexes in the UK. We are looking for Tug Deck Hands to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

What will you do?

Working as part of a team offering 24/7 coverage as required, you'll support the marine and port operations of A&P Falmouth. The role will involve:

  • Acting as deck crew on our harbour tugs, undertaking deck work and rope handling.
  • Assisting the Duty Master with routine maintenance tasks onboard tugs, workboats, and in shoreside facilities.
  • Assisting with the mooring and unmooring of vessels within the port.
  • Carrying out watch duties on vessels within the port, including night shifts.
  • Performing maintenance within the A&P Falmouth facility as required.
  • Being an active member of the department's Safety Committee to help maintain and improve safety culture.

What are we looking for?

  • Completion of all STCW short courses, including recent amendments.
  • Valid ENG1/ML5 medical certificate.
  • Experience in harbour or at sea towage is advantageous, but full training will be provided.
  • Experience operating machinery such as forklifts and cranes is also desirable, with training provided.

This role requires candidates to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, to meet operational needs.
