Corporate Tax Senior

Leading Accountancy Practice and Tax recruitment specialists Clark Wood are currently working with this well renowned and highly reputable national firm of accountants, who are now looking to add an ambitious and experienced Corporate Tax Senior to the team in the Stockport office.

Working within this leading firm, the successful individual will have responsibility for their own portfolio of clients for all day to day aspects of the corporation tax compliance function. The successful candidate will assist in the provision of other compliance work, managing and developing more junior staff, and will be introduced to some advisory and planning work as you develop.

As a portfolio holder you will be expected to build and maintain effective relationships with your clients and will also be responsible for assisting with the supervision of Tax Assistants, reviewing their work and offering advice wherever required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Preparation of tax provisions for audit/accounts purposes
2. Preparation of corporation tax returns/tax computations
3. Advising clients of corporation tax liabilities and managing their statutory deadlines
4. Dealing with HM Revenue & Customs correspondence on behalf of the companies
5. Supervise junior staff involved in corporation tax work
6. Various ad hoc consultancy work as it arises on the client portfolio
7. Other opportunities for advisory work (international tax, property, R&D/transactional support & due diligence assignments)
8. Attend and participate in internal technical updates to comply with CIOT CPD requirements (and other relevant bodies).
9. Various administrative duties/portfolio management including involvement in billing and managing WIP

Skills:

1. ACA / ACCA Qualified
2. CTA Qualified or Part Qualified
3. Experience of working in a Tax focused role (either solely Corporate or mixed Corporate and Personal)
