We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Manager for a Nursing Home to take overall responsibility for the provision and monitoring of high-quality care services in all matters regarding care and clinical governance who will also deputise for the General Manager during periods of absence.

About the Role:

1. To ensure the safe and effective care delivery within the home ensuring a high quality of care using a person-centred approach for all residents.
2. In conjunction with the General Manager, to ensure safe and effective nursing/care staffing rotas for the home, operating with a minimum of 4 weeks in advance within staffing grid/budget.
3. Manage and direct the nursing and care team within the home ensuring they operate efficiently and flexibly and are focused on meeting the individualised needs of the residents at all times.
4. To lead the Registered Nursing team in the production and maintenance of person-centred plans of care, in accordance with Care Planning Policies at all times.
5. To lead the Clinical Lead and Registered Nursing team in the safe and effective management system of medications at all times.
6. To mentor, coach and oversee the Registered Nurses in the monitoring of carers supplementary documentation and to ensure this correlates with directives of care planning.
7. To ensure cost effective, safe levels of clinical/medical supplies are available to the nursing/care team at all times operating within pre-set medical supplies budget.
8. To promote and manage the clinically required Quality Assurance System and Clinical KPIs in accordance with the Quality Assurance System.
9. To provide Nursing Shift cover for the home where possible in the promotion of continuum of care and prevention of the use of agency nurses.

About You:

1. Desire to build and sustain an effective Home Culture where the needs of all residents and families sit at the heart of the service.
2. Proven experience in managing a Care Home.
3. Undertake to deputise for the General Manager, as required, and in periods of their absence from the home, to take an active part in agreed 'out of hours' on-call for the home.
4. Develop and build close professional relationships at all levels.
5. Possess in-depth knowledge of care plans, medication administration and best practices in senior care.
6. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
7. Have a compassionate approach with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents.
8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with residents, families and professionals.
9. Willingness to go the extra mile.

Essential:

1. Current NMC registration in either RN, RMN or RNLD.
2. Previous Clinical or Deputy lead within an elderly Care Home.

Desirable:

1. RN, RMA or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 5 years working in Care Homes.
3. Ability to effectively self-govern time management, ability to lead a team with a 'can do' attitude, good sense of humour and excellent motivator.
4. Early start date.
