Our clients are seeking dedicated Highways Operatives to join their hardworking team in Plymouth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform highway repairs including Patching, Resurfacing, Potholes, Drainage, Footways, and general highway maintenance as part of a team.
  2. Utilize technology (tablets/apps) to record safety data and maintenance activities.
  3. Operate plant and equipment as trained, necessary for daily tasks.
  4. Manage vehicles, plant, and materials responsibly.
  5. Provide guidance and supervision to less experienced team members when appropriate.
  6. Hold a clean driving license; some points accepted.
  7. Maintain a strong commitment to Health and Safety standards.
  8. Possess good communication skills, basic literacy, and numeracy.
  9. Be capable of manual work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  10. Hold a CSCS Card and an HGV license.
  11. Note: NRSWA accreditation and Lantra 12D operative accreditation are desirable but not essential.
Rate of Pay:
  • Overtime paid at 150% after 40 hours.
  • Positions are PAYE, with benefits including accrued holiday pay from day one, weekly pay, and no umbrella fees.
  • Standard deductions for tax and National Insurance will be applied, as shown on your payslip.

This is a temporary role with the potential to become permanent in the future.
