About Team:

High-quality connected data on Research is at the heart of Elsevier’s mission to help advance science and improve healthcare outcomes. The Data Engineering team supports this mission by building and maintaining a comprehensive data platform that underpins all of Elsevier’s data flows and products in the business. We harvest research data from numerous data streams, extract information and link these together into coherent entities. The data we produce enables our knowledge graph and recommendation systems to derive higher-level insights and deliver value to the research community.

The Portfolio and Agile Delivery team sits within the Data Engineering group and we enable portfolio-level prioritisation and support engineering teams to deliver continuous incremental value in a consistent and predictable way.

About Role:

We are seeking a Data Analytics and Reporting Specialist to develop reports and data management artifacts that enhance portfolio management, delivery management, and organizational health. You will support portfolio planning and prioritization processes, providing clear and actionable insights for Data Engineering and stakeholders across Elsevier.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, test, maintain, and support reports and data management artifacts.
  2. Ensure consistency and quality in data visualization and reporting.
  3. Support the administration of portfolio and delivery processes.
  4. Collaborate with Delivery Managers and Directors.
  5. Develop dashboards to identify productivity blockers and inefficiencies using data from Jira and other sources.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in a data analytics or business intelligence role.
  2. Proven experience with Tableau, EazyBI, or Power BI dashboards and data visualization.
  3. Strong communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  4. Excellent organization, time management, and project management skills.
  5. Experience working with software engineering teams.
  6. Familiarity with agile delivery, Jira, and writing requirements specifications and user stories.
  7. A passion for experimentation, learning, and contributing to the technology community.
