We are currently recruiting a Project Manager to join a leading consultancy. This is an exciting opportunity for a high-calibre individual to join with a clear pathway to promotion to Senior Project Manager whilst in post. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to take responsibility for providing all project management services on a number of interesting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances.
  2. Carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures.
  3. Comply with established procurement/commercial/contractual strategies.
  4. Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards.
  5. Manage and prepare key stage reports from feasibility through to completion and post-handover.
  6. Prepare various programmes.
  7. Manage meetings, taking and preparing minutes.
  8. Prepare progress reports and present them at monthly client meetings.
  9. Run a competitive tender process, including managing queries from tendering contractors.
  10. Manage multiple projects on ‘LIVE’ operational sites.
  11. Assist with the preparation of contract documents.
  12. Manage multi-disciplinary project teams.
  13. Administer building contracts.
  14. Demonstrate retail sector experience, particularly multi-site retail roll-out project experience taking full ownership from project brief to final completion and occupation.

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive, proactive approach to the role and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with strong commercial results.

  1. Construction Project Management degree or a similar construction-related qualification with extensive technical delivery experience in a similar role gained within a consultancy or end-user client.
  2. Strong JCT contract administration experience.
  3. Ability to work on own initiative is imperative being part of a UK-wide team.
  4. Ideally MRICS / MCIOB or equivalent professional qualification but not essential.
  5. Ability to identify and develop potential opportunities to secure more business.
  6. Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined, and commercially astute.
  7. Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal.
  8. Excellent customer service, communication, and client/external interface skills.
  9. A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering to deadlines.
  10. A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, and flexible.
