Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated experienced Band 7 Trained and accredited Nurse Colposcopist to join our outpatient team on the Women's Health Unit at the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Women's Health Unit

We provide a range of specialist gynaecological services including Hysteroscopy, Colposcopy, Urogynaecology, Gynaecology assessment, and early pregnancy assessment. The successful candidate will integrate within our team and work across these services, primarily in Colposcopy clinics.

Location and Working Arrangements
  1. Clinics may be held at York, Monkgate, Scarborough, and Bridlington sites.
  2. One full day per week will be dedicated to the Bridlington clinic.
  3. Attendance at the monthly Colposcopy MDT (last Friday of each month) is required.
Responsibilities
  1. Participate in regular colposcopy audits and attend quarterly meetings.
  2. Hold accreditation for diagnostic and treatment modules.
  3. Deliver independent diagnostic and treatment Colposcopy clinics.
  4. Manage your own caseload and oversee all aspects of the patient journey within Colposcopy.
  5. Contribute to service improvement initiatives.
  6. Work within national standards and guidelines for Cervical Screening and Colposcopy.
  7. Inform patients of test outcomes and present cases at MDT meetings.
Skills and Qualifications

Excellent communication skills are essential, along with the development of expert clinical skills, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination for outpatient Colposcopy procedures.
