Job description

Machine Shop Quality Technician who has quality control inspection experience with engraving knowledge, the ability to read and interpret machine drawings, and is self-driven and willing to learn, is required for a market leading manufacturing company based in Lowestoft, Suffolk.

SALARY: Up to £30,000 per annum + Annual Bonus + Benefits (See below)

LOCATION: Lowestoft, Suffolk

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with the opportunity to work overtime on an ad-hoc basis

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Machine Shop Quality Technician who has quality control inspection experience with engraving knowledge, the ability to read and interpret machine drawings, and is self-driven and willing to learn.

Working as the Machine Shop Quality Technician you will ensure the highest standards are maintained by inspecting and testing materials and finished products, using precision measuring equipment such as rulers, calipers, gauges, and micrometres.

As the Machine Shop Quality Technician you will accurately record and report inspection results, accept or reject items based on quality, and remove non-conforming products. You will communicate inspection findings effectively with relevant personnel to drive continuous improvement.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the Machine Shop Quality Technician you will have:

  • Quality Control / Quality Controller / Quality Inspector / Quality Control Inspector experience in a similar manufacturing / machine shop environment
  • Ability to read & interpret machine drawings
  • Understanding of geometric tolerances
  • Ability to measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometres
  • Good communication skills in order to discuss inspection results with those responsible for products
  • Record-keeping skills to report inspection and test results and maintain calibration register
  • Good organisation skills
  • A self-driven, willing to learn personality and able to work as part of a team
  • Experience using Telesis Benchmark engraving equipment, is an advantage
  • Experience using Trimos Vectra measuring instrument, is an advantage
