Interim Head of Health, Safety and Environment (Interim)

Location: East Anglia

Rate: 400 Per Day (Outside IR35)

Duration: 3-6 Month Contract - Immediate Start

We're working with a leading food manufacturing business in East Anglia that's undergoing change and modernisation. They are seeking an Interim Head of Health, Safety and Environment to lead cultural and behavioural improvements across their primary processing site and wider operations.

This role is operational and delivery-focused, supported by senior leadership, with the opportunity to shape the safety culture significantly.

Responsibilities of the Interim Head of HSE include:

1. Leading health, safety, and environmental initiatives across the main site and multiple locations.
2. Driving a proactive, values-led safety culture with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
3. Managing and supporting a small on-site team, including Safety and Environmental Officers.
4. Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and regulators.
5. Ensuring compliance with UK HSE legislation and aligning practices with group standards.

Ideal candidate profile:

1. Extensive experience in manufacturing, preferably within food or FMCG sectors.
2. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and relevant professional memberships such as IOSH.
3. Proven success in delivering turnaround projects and cultural change in fast-paced environments.
4. Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
