Finance Director (1st hire)– Seed stage eCommerce

Location: 100% office based (West London)

Talentedge is partnering with an early-stage, rapidly scaling eCommerce startup that has been trading for less than 18 months and is already generating over £400k in sales per month. Having secured significant Seed investment from a reputable VC, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team.

As the Finance Director and first finance hire, you will work closely with the passionate & ambitious Co-Founders to scale the business internationally.

Ideal candidates will be strong coders, strategic and commercially focused accountants, passionate about consumer products, and enthusiastic about startups.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and implement scalable processes, controls, and systems, leveraging technology for automation.
2. Manage monthly management reporting and oversee annual statutory reporting.
3. Develop strategic, commercial, and financial objectives for the company.
4. Partner cross-functionally, especially with Product, Data, and GTM teams.
5. Collaborate with the founding team on international expansion strategies.

Profile

1. ACA qualified with a strong academic background, preferably STEM degree from a top university.
2. Exposure to software engineering or coding.
3. Experience working within a high-growth D2C, eCommerce, or FMCG business that has scaled rapidly.
4. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data visualization and advanced Excel.
5. Experience with Xero and related ecosystem of apps.
