This is an exciting opportunity to join the Public Rights of Way and Country Parks team at Devon County Council. We are recruiting for a Senior Officer to lead our definitive map and technical team, playing a key part in managing one of the UK’s most popular rights of way and access networks.
With excellent opportunities to work flexibly, you will lead a team of specialist officers based from our Exeter office, supporting and delivering initiatives for health and wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and economic vitality.
Applicants should be educated to degree level and/or have significant training and development in public rights of way and access management. Relevant experience, along with proven problem-solving, negotiation, and innovation skills, is essential.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the legal record of public rights of way is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible; developing and implementing policies, processes, and guidance to safeguard and enhance public rights of way; and leading projects to improve access.
