Job description

We are seeking skilled and compassionate staff nurses to join our dedicated Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services at Forest House.

Forest House is a 14-bedded inpatient unit for young people suffering from emotional, behavioural, and psychiatric problems. The unit offers a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week service, assessing, treating, and evaluating care through various therapeutic techniques, including family work, individual work, group work, and the day-to-day milieu.

As a Staff Nurse, you will have excellent communication skills, be an empathetic listener, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. You will have the opportunity to lead a nursing staff team in the absence of the Charge Nurse and support the Charge Nurse/Team Leader to ensure effective and efficient service management.

Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work on-site.

As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will be expected to:

• Work in close collaboration with other professionals to assess service users’ needs, devise care plans, and evaluate outcomes that promote service user empowerment.
• Participate in assessment and treatment to provide high-quality, individualized care addressing the needs of service users.
• Support the Charge Nurse and Team Leader to ensure the service is managed effectively and efficiently.
