Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Ashington
Salary: £150 - £220 per day (Depending on experience)

Are you an enthusiastic and committed PE Teacher ready to inspire the next generation through sport and physical education?

GSL Education are currently seeking a skilled and motivated PE Teacher to work in a dynamic and supportive secondary school setting in Ashington. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your love for physical activity with your talent for teaching.

About the Role:

As a PE Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that promote healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and a positive sporting ethos. You will be responsible for delivering the national curriculum in Physical Education, both in theory and practical sessions, across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a full PE curriculum to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
  • Plan and teach high-quality lessons that encourage active participation and skill development.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and supporting achievement.
  • Organise and lead extracurricular sporting activities and school competitions.
  • Promote inclusion and engagement of all pupils, regardless of ability or background.
  • Ensure pupil behaviour is managed effectively during lessons and sporting events.
  • Contribute to whole-school initiatives relating to health, fitness, and well-being.

PE Teacher Job Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • Degree in Physical Education or a related discipline.
  • Experience teaching PE at the secondary level is essential.
  • Strong subject knowledge with a passion for encouraging student fitness and development.
  • Ability to motivate and engage pupils across a range of sporting disciplines.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
