Qualifications

About you:

• You would be an experienced Nursing Assistant (Senior Care Assistant level 3)
• Reliable and trustworthy, able to work as part of a team & unsupervised
• Self-motivated and able to motivate and lead a team of care assistants
• Capable of remaining calm under pressure and adapting to ad hoc situations
• Patient, empathetic, and caring, with good oral and written communication skills

Main Purpose of the Job

Nursing Assistants play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our homes for older people. They lead on social care and support for residents.

Reporting to the Home Manager, you would be responsible for allocating duties to a team of Healthcare Assistants, acting as a role model in best practice. You would also assist with personal care, nutrition, mobility, and well-being of residents.

Once assessed as competent under the guidance of the Home Manager, a Nursing Assistant may undertake clinical tasks such as:

• Checking blood sugar levels
• Changing simple dressings
• PEG feeding
• Medication administration
• Basic observations
• Catheter care

This list is not exhaustive.

Typical Shift Patterns for Day or Night Contracts

Day Shifts

• 8am until 8pm
• 8am until 2pm
• 2pm until 8pm

Night Shifts

• 8pm until 8am
