What We Look For In a Forbes Trainee

We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on their demonstrated knowledge, skills, and behaviors in:


Qualifications

  • A Law Degree (or equivalent) or completion of the GDL/PGDL.
  • Completion of the LPC / SQE 1 or progress towards completion

Prospective trainees looking to start a period of recognised training must have completed a law degree or the GDL/PGDL and the LPC or SQE 1 prior to starting the Training Contract with us.


Dedication to the Legal Field

  • Practical exposure to law through activities like court attendance, pro-bono work, legal clinics, work placements, or roles within a law firm (e.g., Paralegal, vacation schemes).
Knowledge, Skills And Behaviours

  • Aligns with the Firm's values;
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong commercial awareness;
  • Good local connections to the Lancashire, Manchester, and Yorkshire areas;
  • Proven competence in IT skills (Outlook, Word, and other systems);
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal;
